So I finally made it — Land’s End to John O’Groats!

I held my event in the town of Thurso, where I’d dreamed of surfing, but never actually managed to get in the water. Even though the waves were perfect, by this point in the tour I was absolutely exhausted.

Thurso was a lightly attended event, but I met some incredible young artists of the next generation who were thoroughly inspired by the day. It reminded me that sometimes it’s not about how many people show up, but the impact you can have on the people who do.

On my last day, one of the families came to find me and invited me to watch the Christmas tree lights being switched on. Afterwards, they welcomed me back to their home for tea and biscuits, where I got to see the amazing artwork of one of the little artists I’d met.

She even gave me one of her paintings to keep — and it’s still here in my studio today. ❤️
