Southend is probably one of my fondest memories from the entire tour.

It was the biggest turnout we had, with over 200 people coming together to take part in the day. We were also joined by five different mental health and community organisations, who came along to meet people, have conversations and share the support and services they offer.

There was something incredibly powerful about seeing so many different people and organisations coming together in one place, all with that same sense of community and connection.

When it came to deciding what to paint on the Southend canvas, orcas felt perfect.

Orcas are one of the strongest symbols of community in the animal kingdom. They live and travel in close family groups and can come together in enormous superpods numbering in the hundreds.

For a day that brought more people together than any other stop on the tour, I couldn’t think of a more fitting symbol.

Southend was our superpod. ❤️
