Lee-on-the-Solent was a last-minute addition to the tour.

My friend Tee, who I had met the previous summer at Into the Wild Festival, asked if I would come and hold an event on the beach there.

I thought, what the heck? Let’s do it.

And I’m so glad I did.

We held the event on the beach at Lee-on-the-Solent, part of the Gosport coastline, and it happened to fall on Mother’s Day.

It was probably the windiest event of the entire tour, but that didn’t stop a fantastic turnout of families, mums and children coming together to join us.

With it being Mother’s Day, choosing what to paint felt pretty obvious.

I painted a mother elephant walking alongside her baby calf,  a little celebration of that incredible bond between a mother and her child.

Sometimes the events you don’t plan are the ones you’re most grateful you said yes to.
