There was a moment on the day of St Ives that made me realise how important this tour will be for a lot of people. I happened when I met Serena Jolly of Sunrise Cornwall CIC a suicide bereavement organisation who help people going through loss. I was collaborating with them and also with my good friend Melanie Philp of Your True Nature counselling. When I asked Serena if she had reached anyone needing Sunrise through our collaboration, Mel tapped me on the shoulder and said "Yes me" Needless to say this brought a tear to my eye.

I painted wings who is famous seal that my friend Nigel told me about. She regularly visits the harbour where I ran the gathering. She got her nickname from her beautiful markings. One day the fisherman had to catch her too free her from an aerobie frisbee that got stuck around her neck. I made her halo to represent this.  

The Tour Art Concept

Each town of the tour will have a collaborative canvas, splatted and splashed with colour by the community who attend. All the emotions that people bring to the event whether they be happy sad love or anger will be conveyed in the splattered backdrop. I then respond to it with my own painting inspired by my time in each place.

By the end of the tour, I’ll have at least 30 originals. They will then be exhibited in a London charity gala at the end of the tour. The show will then travel for a few weeks reaching North, East & West of the UK. This way everyone who took part will have a chance to see the art.
