This is the very first piece in the series, created on Seaford Beach during our test gathering, just before the official launch of the tour.

We were honoured to welcome real-life human angel Gerry Howitt, CEO of the Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team, an organisation dedicated to helping people in crisis find hope and a reason to keep living. She gave us a talk that felt like a mini mental health first aid course – eye-opening, deeply moving, and invaluable for everyone who attended.

I created this piece in honour of the Seaford Mermaids swimming group, who joined me on the day to share with our attendees the joy and connection that comes from being part of a cold-water swimming community.

The Tour Art Concept

Each town of the tour will have a collaborative canvas, splatted and splashed with colour by the community who attend. All the emotions that people bring to the event whether they be happy sad love or anger will be conveyed in the splattered backdrop. I then respond to it with my own painting inspired by my time in each place.

By the end of the tour, I’ll have at least 30 originals. They will then be exhibited in a London charity gala at the end of the tour. The show will then travel for a few weeks reaching North, East & West of the UK. This way everyone who took part will have a chance to see the art.
